Tianjin company contributes to World Cup venue
China is making huge contributions to the FIFA World Cup finals currently underway in Qatar, among them is Tenghai Technology in Tianjin’s Jinghai district, which contributed towards the building of the Lusail Stadium, Qatar's biggest sporting venue.
The golden bowl-shaped 80,000-seat capacity venue was built by China Railway Construction Corp Ltd, and the cables used for the stadium were all made in China. It marked a milestone in Chinese companies building a cable-edged cable nets roof system.
Tenghai Technology provided 375 tons of prestressed steel strands for the building of the venue. Through the united efforts of the company, it produced the hefty amount of steel products in just five days.
With excellent quality and supply efficiency, the company's products have been widely used in various key projects across the country and exported to many countries and regions.
The venue is one of the most environmentally friendly stadiums in the world. Sustainable building practices were applied throughout the construction of the facility. The construction process has saved about 40 percent of freshwater consumption compared to building a traditional stadium.
